Dutch Federation
Fostering the Dutch Community in Australia
Business need
The Dutch Federation were involved with the 50 years since WWII in 1995 by organizing a street party which was attended by representative of the American, Canadian and Dutch Embassies and Dutch Federation’s website needed to have well-presented contents to inform Dutch people about the history, present as well as upcoming days. The federation aimed to deliver information regarding the Dutch community to Dutch people using technology to streamline processes.
Key challenges
The new website had to be created to deliver it to the board and the contents for the site needed to be around the content of old site. There was a need to replace static website with the new dynamic website with limited budget.
Since the site would ideally be used by both technical and non-technical staff, the content management system selected needed to be flexible and easy to use. Furthermore, the site needed scaling to support the expanded content and new users.
Solution
After requirements were gathered and analysed, a CMS solution based on the Microsoft .NET technology based open source CMS platform was deployed. The site developed with content management system provided the federation with assurance that their requirements would not exceed their budget by providing a fixed fee for the development, training, and support.
Multibase provided training and users’ manual to maintain the website ensuring various contents could be viewed and edited based on roles assigned to the users.
Results
The Dutch Federation makes all the website changes in-house and can see results immediately. The federation can adjust to meet the needs of displaying proper content and focus on communication with members and affiliates through various news and events.
The new website has made the federation to not only stand out but also save time and effort by gaining full control of their content. The federation can communicate with their members and send newsletters with a click of a button.
