Role:Senior Technical System Analyst

Overview
Our client requires the services of a proactive, motivated and engaged Technical Systems Analyst to bridge business requirements and technical implementation across cloud transformation and system integration projects.
The Technical Systems Analysts will translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable specifications for development and infrastructure teams. The deliverables and requirements for the role are as provided in "Key duties and responsibilities" below.
Candidate will have following background:
- 5+ years in technical analysis, system/infrastructure cloud engineering role
- Prior work history as a developer or system engineer before transitioning into technical analysis
- Experience working in large IT organisations (government regulatory, banking, or financial services sectors an added plus)
- Proven track record in coordinating across multiple functional, technical and project teams
Key duties and responsibilities
Deliverables & Outcomes
The Technical System Analyst will be responsible for delivering both Documentation and Project Outcomes.
Documentation deliverables include:
- Detailed story cards for agile development teams with clear requirements and acceptance criteria
- Functional and technical API documentation
- Detailed configuration specifications for cloud services, infrastructure, and platform setups
- Technical documents of systems and services such as network diagrams, infrastructure interface designs, asset and inventory management lists, performance and status monitoring plans, and risk, failover and recovery plans
- Clear mapping between business requirements and technical implementations
Project Outcomes include:
- Technical teams that can execute implementations without constant clarification requests
- Well-documented requirements that enable faster, more accurate implementations and quality testing
- Seamless collaboration between development, cloud, infrastructure, and vendor teams
- Technical specifications that consistently meets data governance and security requirements
- Technical designs that are validated against architectural standards before development begins
Requirements for the Role
The Technical System Analyst will possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in successfully interpreting business requirements into systems and technology language that can then be easily understood by a technical audience
- A deep understanding of cloud SaaS, data, and government regulatory systems as well as business processes and functions
- A proven track record in successfully working with technical teams to document solutions for technology implementations and operations with traceability to business requirements
- Extensive experience in producing technical documentation of systems and services - such as, network diagrams, infrastructure interface designs, asset and inventory management list, performance and status monitoring plans, and risk, failover and recovery plans
- Demonstrated ability in undertaking analysis into infrastructure design and connectivity operational issues and system processing issues
- Established track record in supporting delivery teams to ensure business and technical requirements are met
- Proven ability in working collaboratively with other technical system analysts on API specifications, data flow diagrams, data mapping documents, functional requirements and system diagrams as required
- AWS essential certification (or equivalent Azure/Google cloud certification demonstrating fundamental cloud knowledge)
Desirable
- Experience with infrastructure transformation or on-prem to cloud migration projects
- Knowledge of IT governance and compliance frameworks
- SaaS data/regulatory system platform experience e.g. Palantir
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced project delivery environment
Estimated start date: 19-01-2026
Location of work: Sydney and Melbourne
Length of contract: 12 months
Contract extensions: 1 x 12 months
Work Arrangements: Hybrid
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be able to obtain NV1 clearance
- Eligible to work in Australia
